Where to Eat!

Through the Fire takes place in and around the Montrose area of Houston.  Michael, Daniel and occasionally Kelly frequented different establishments for a meal and conversation.

Houston, like many large metropolitan areas, is known for its many excellent restaurants. The Pappas chain of restaurants was featured in the book. YaYa Mary’s happens to be one of my favorites when I am in Houston. Michael and Kelly have lunch there as they discuss a note left my Danial. Examining in detail each word for meaning, Michael and Kelly perhaps started with an appetizer of Saganaki Cheese, followed by a Greek salad and finishing off with one of my favorites Moussaka. Another favorite place is Pappadeaux. Daniel and Michael eat at this favorite Cajan Style restaurant on one of their first days out as a couple.

Katz’ Deli a popular New York Style deli in the heart of Montrose, was another place that was in Through the Fire. The Matzo Ball Soup and the Stuffed Cabbage are two of my favorites. Daniel and Michael had eaten breakfast there as the restaurant is just around the corner from Daniel’s condo.

If you are in Houston, and you like to eat, try out one of these places. I am sure you will enjoy!

Thank you for your time and as always “Keep Reading!”
